About Dan B. Lee

A quick break down of my history and experience relating to website design.

Summary

I am a Website Designer working independently under the business name of Kasted Studios. I have been doing Web Design since 2001 when I was asked to build small websites here and there. Now I find myself building full scale multi-dimensional web applications for clients all around the world. I quickly fell into the design process and I am lucky to say that I make my living doing something I love. My allegiance is to Web Standards, Search Engine Optimization, semantically accurate markup, and ultimate frisbee. I live in St. Petersburg, Florida and can't imagine living anywhere else.

Work Experience

I began working with computers when I started a small website hosting company in 2001. I soon realized the value of knowing how to design websites; more-so than simply hosting. After graduating from St. Petersburg College with an Associate of the Arts degree I was given the opportunity to become a Network Administrator for MuniMae, LLC where I was in charge of the maintaining their intranet environment using the ever popular Sharepoint Application as well as developing the five public websites owned by the business. The freelance work that I do now reflects my independent learning of the XHTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript languages.

Proficiencies

My design lives and dies by Web 2.0 and strict XTHML Standards. I use CSS extensively in my work and rely on JQuery to enhance the user experience. For larger projects I use PHP to avoid re-using code and reducing redundancy.

Applications

I'm partial to different CMS Frameworks, specifically Expression Engine & Wordpress; whatever fits best. I prefer Magento for shopping carts and Vbulletin or BBPress for forums.

And Beyond...

Listed above are my preferences and familiarities. I'm more than willing to work with any platform or language if it will benefit the customer.
